I have a similar reaction to narcotics that are codeine derivatives and it is really the most awful feeling. If it&#39;s a sensitivity to codeine derivatives, and a lot of narcotics are, maybe you can ask for something else. I have to use pain meds right now and am using alternatives that work just fine. I hope he heals quickly, but also that he realizes the seriousness of doing too much too soon.<br /><br />And how frightening for you to not be there at the time it happened. A few years ago my youngest daughter went skiing with my sister and her family. Sarah hit a tree and ended up in a trauma center half way across the country from us. And this was just days after the actress died from a head trauma after a skiing accident. You can imagine the fear that went through us. Fortunately, after the broken bones, eye socket fracture and &#39;road rash&#39; healed she was back to her normal self.
