Twisted Tuesdays - Good Things To Come

I am still working on getting to a place where I can get back to blogging regularly. We are going through a HUGE adjustment over here and I can't tell you how much it means to me that all you lovely readers are still here waiting for me. I will be back... soon.

I wanted to POP in on this lovely Twisted Tuesday to share a few exciting tidbits with you. This week marks the start of the new season of PBS's Beads Baubles and Jewels with new host Katie Hacker. You might remember that earlier this I went to Beachwood Studios in Cleveland Ohio to film a little spot for the show. Just this weekend, a link to a video of my appearance arrive in my inbox!! Check it out....

Isn't the make up artist at Beachwood Studios fabulous?!? HA! A think I babbled a bit, and I need to work on letting Katie finish her sentences, but hey, it works! And I hope it helps newbies decide which wire guages are needed for which projects.

Next up is another cool behind the scenes project I worked on earlier this year that is finally ready for its big reveal. The amazing Denise Peck asked if I might be interested in contributing to the second installment of Wire Style. And I said, OF COURSE I WOULD!! Again, Denise has put together a beautiful collection of 45 projects to delight your wire lovin' hearts.

Drum roll, please, for Wire Style 2!!

I find myself in some really wonderful company in this book. Jodi Bombardier, Jane Dickerson, Lorelei Eurto, Connie Fox, Lisa Niven Kelly, Donna Spadafore, and last but not least, my good friend, Cindy Wimmer. You can now pre-order Wire Style 2 at the Interweave Store and on Amazon. Grab a copy, I am sure you won't want to miss getting this!!

Ring-A-Ling-A-Lings

RingALings Group

Helloooo...

You guys remember the book Wire Style that I contributed on last year? Follow the link and scroll down and check out the last page of the "preview". You can see my "Ring A Ling" design on the back cover. It isn't on the back cover of the book sstore shelf copies but it is there online. Out of the blue, this design popped back in my head and I decided I had to do a few for this week's show.

I decided to have fun and do them up in BRIGHTS! Lots of brights! You know what is great about these? They fit any one. If you think it is too long, squeeze together those coil and you can shrink these up at least an inch. If you need something a little longer, pull those coils out and you can add length. Cool huh?

I am very excited to have met my goal of 30 new pieces fof this week's trunk show. Actually, I passed the goal! I am taking 32 pieces in this afternoon. Everything has been polished and tagged. Today is the day that I will drop things off to the gallery so they can input it all into their system. One of the nice things about this show is that I don't have to handle the transactions. They do it all! It does mean I have to give them a huge percentage of the sale price, but it all benefits the museum so that is good.

As a reminder: the show starts THURSDAY June 11th and I will be there from 6-9pm. I will be there FRIDAY from noon - 4pm. And again on SATURDAY from 10-4pm! I hope to see lots of you there.

IT'S HERE, IT'S HERE, IT'S HERE

AAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

LOOK WHAT I FOUND AT BARNES & NOBLE TONIGHT!!!

My good friend Lindsey and I were out for her birthday celebration, as we are every year at this time. We decided to hit Barnes & Noble for a little magazine time. They didn't have the magazine Lindsey wanted so we wondered to the craft/altered art/jewelry/paper/sewing book section. We were sitting (on the floor) for about 3 minutes when all of a sudden I saw it!!

Lindsey took a video of my reaction. I was totally flipping out. But unfortunately she hit end instead of save on her cell phone. Oh well, I know it isn't something I will forget anytime soon. I completely lost it. I couldn't breath... I was smiling ear to ear... I was laughing... I was kicking my feet... I was shaking... I was crying... I AM SO EXCITED!!

It took about 10 solid minutes for me gain my composure. Though I was still shaking. I flipped through each page and stroked each photo. I can't wait for you to see which projects are inside. I couldn't show you before, but I think I can now. Anyway... it is totally awesome. They changed the back cover from what is on the Interweave website, but who cares... I AM IN A BOOK!! YOO HOOOOOO!!!

I called Ron from the store. And he was like "what book?" And he actually told me not to buy it and that I should wait for the free copy to come from the publisher. YEAH RIGHT! He is lucky I didn't buy all the copies that had!! Lindsey suggested I sign the copy that comes from the publisher and give it away here on the blog. BRILLIANT idea. I will have to think of a fun way to do the give away. I'll let you know what I come up with. Though honestly, I have been asked to sign things and I feel like an arrogant ass every time I do it. But Lindsey said no, I am not and she insists that you guys will want a signed copy. LOL.

AAAAAGGGGGHHHHH!!! I still can't believe it is here!!

I have an absolutely splitting headache and I could throw up at the moment but even feeling sick can't get the grin off my face. I told Lindsey in the store that I think coming upon the book in the store like that was the best thing ever. Sure I would have liked to see it come in the mail weeks ago. But OMG... IT'S IN BARNES & NOBLE!! Right this very moment... on the shelf... how cool is that?!?! I got to see it for the very first time... in the store... where people are gonna buy it. I had to show the girl at the register... see... the name of the artist... same name on the credit card... THAT'S ME!!
