Oh! and a bit of Woe...

picture fall day 1 :: quintessential fall
:: i was going to wait and share picture fall photos all together in one post, but i find myself photoless today... so... here is a peek at a few.
:: oh! i am so in love with everything about this time of year *sigh*... crisp air and toasty house-warming fires in the wood burner daily, it curls my toes
:: taking time to listen to a few heart whispers lately
:: settling into a new rhythm with andrew here and i am working on being okay with that
:: learning to be okay with ebbs and flows of creativity too

picture fall day 3 :: the beauty challenge
:: kinda feeling thankful for this down time...
:: life is over flowing in different ways, but creatively, i am good with it
:: rusty and lola are starting to get along a little better... i don't worry about him eating her
:: completely rearranged the living room twice in the past week..
:: officially started christmas shopping on saturday when i purchased a beautiful hand painted nightstand for lauren from my talented aunt at a craft show.

picture fall day 13 :: good day sunshine
:: i am going to be helping my mom deliver bulldog puppies this week! (olive is having her first litter on thursday)
:: tried to torch yesterday only to discover my oxygen concentrator has died, it is being shipped in for repairs :(
:: oh woe is me...
:: but see, even the universe is saying i should be taking a break...
:: my knitting needles and a slice of blueberry apple bread is calling me.

picture fall day 10 :: preparations

IMPORTANT!!
THIS IS TO BE USED IN A HEAVY "BUNDT" PAN!!

Gee's Apple Cake

Mix, set aside:
4 good size Apples
1 cup Blueberries
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 cup sugar

Blend:
1 1/2 cup oil
6 eggs
3 cups sugar
2 tlbs. vanilla

Then Add:
4 1/2 cups flour
1 1/4 tsp. salt
4 1/2 tsp. baking powder

Pre-heat oven to 350'

Batter is VERY THICK! Pour half of the batter into a greased and floured bundt pan. Then spread the apple and blueberry mixture on top of that and then add the rest of the batter over the top of apples and blueberries. Place in middle of oven rack and bake for about a hour and 20 minutes. Knife should come out clean. Cool and tun up-side down on a good size baking sheet covered with foil or a cake plate if you have a good size one.

We keep our cake covered in the freig., we like it cold, or keep coved on counter.

Enjoy! Gee!

Oh my gosh! Your Mom posted her recipe!!! :-) I was just thinking that sounded yummy when I read your post! And I have never had that combination. I just finished off the last slice of chocolate chip pecan pie myself (and my the size looked like a 1/4 of the pie!). Wow, the big due date is getting closer...will be thinking of you on Thursday. I bet your Mom is exicted about it all.
I agree, a break maybe just the right thing. I'm not sure if the universe has been telling me to do the same thing, but creatively its been the same way here.
