Spring Fever

:: oh me oh my, what a wonderful springy weekend we just had.
:: it was a three day weekend and it started with a late-winter trip to the beach.
:: nothing more than sweater and blue jeans were needed.
:: under bright blue skies we listened to the waves and found heart shaped shells.
:: we ran back and forth and felt the icy water.
:: from friday to saturday to sunday the warmer temps stayed.
:: scooters, sidewalk chalk, garden tending, and yard thatching.

:: rosy sunkissed cheeks, chocolate cake, merlot, and a supermoon.
:: we could feel the promise of the things to come.
:: robins tweeted in the bare branches of the apple trees.
:: the fire inside was left to dwindle.
:: the urge to run to the farm market for new plants was tempered by the warning of snow still to come.
:: spring fever makes it easy to forget.
:: i started and finished knitting a sock and wonder if i can finish the second as fast.
:: welcome spring, it is nice to see you again.

Sounds like you had a wonderful long weekend! It was hard to come back from Florida and not want to get planting here at home as we were able to do it down there, but like you I know better, the late freeze has bitten me more than once! All in due time my pretty!

What a lovely way to spend the day! I love that picture of you with Lauren. I wish that I could take more pictures like this. You are my favorite photo blog, you know that? I feel like I was right there squishing the sand between my fingers and feeling the wind buffet my hair about in wild straggles. But so beautiful it makes you. That and the obvious love you share with your daughter. Such a connection.
Enjoy the day!
