Welcome Soup Lovers!

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog on your way around the international Bead Soup Blog Party! I had the extreme honor of working with soup ingredients sent to me by vintage inspired guru, Diane Cook. Please be sure to hop hop hop on over to her blog and see what goodies she has dished out.

If you have a moment, I have a treat for you!! I made a VLOG about the necklace I created with a stunning chandelier pendant, sari silk ribbon, garnets, and wire. For those of you short on time, scroll down for images of my project.

Enjoy...

I was actually able to make 3 projects and have enough leftovers for a few more treats too. Diane was so generous! I am going to stash these yummy things away for a rainy day. Oh how I love vintage shiny things.

Per the blog hop rules, I used both my focal and my clasp! Just not in the same piece. The focal takes center stage in the necklace seen in the video and shown below. As for the clasp, it is in the peachy bracelet accented by fresh water pearls, seed beads, and more sari silk. You might remember my Soup Arrival video, yes? I told you I would save the ribbon that I untied from the boxes!! One piece is part of the bracelet.

My third piece is a simply sweet pair of earrings. Sometimes sweet and simple is just the right touch.

I knew from the beginning that I would combine the burgundy silk with the focal. The braid idea wove itself into my head and I just couldn't get it out. I did a practice braid with the silk last week and when I sat down to finally make it... all the design work was done in my head so bringing it to life left so smooth and natural. I am in love.
I hope you have had a good time here in Kitchen Kerry! Happy BSBP Hopping!! You can find the master list of participate blogs at Lori Anderson's official Bead Soup Blog Party post. Thank you fearless leader!! YOU ROCK!

What a great way to share your Bead Soup experience - by truly showing us!! I enjoyed the whimsical video and was seriously impressed with the details you added with the tiny beads. The coiled wirework accents to the chandelier crystal is such an unexpected and perfectly KABS touch!! I love how you ended the video - trying on the necklace in the mirror, and what a perfect fit! Did the length turn out just perfectly, just like that? You sure make your creative process seem so natural and easy, but I realize lots of design planning went on behind the scenes. And the bracelet is stunning as well - love all of the layers and strands. I agree, sometimes sweet and simple is the way to go - those earrings could be easily worn every day. Kerry, I think you did Diane's gorgeous Bead Soup mix proud! :-)

I love the VLOG Kerri...what a great touch! I believe your necklace turned out gorgeous...especially the coiled accents on each side of the focal which compliments the chandelier crystal focal~beautiful work! And, the layered bracelet is so very cool. Those tiny little rhinestone dangles are so sweet aren't they? And, like Cindy said..we enjoyed seeing you try on her necklace in the mirror! A most perfect ending....

Your pieces are so rich and fun at the same time. The video was a neat idea, but I'll admit that with 362 blogs to get through, I really just scanned though the whole thing. I'll have to remember to come back at some point later and watch it thoroughly. I'm sure in my scanning I missed some really great tips. SORRY!!! Of course, I wrote a novel in my blog post and know that most hoppers won't actually read it either. Oh well.
Again, your pieces are just wonderful. I really wish I had your talent!

Gorgeous! Thanks for the idea of just a jump ring to hook the focal to the ribbon. I love using ribbon but struggle with the best ways to attach each one. Love your wire work, you last book is my go to for ideas and instructions. It has helped me to be more "fearless" in my wire working! Thank you! Look forward to the new book!

Gorgeous as usual sweet lady! I'm just getting started hopping and I had to come straight away to your blog. I think of all the blogs I missed over my little break, yours is right at the top ;) I've been making braided bracelets that connect in a similar fashion to this. I like the way that the tails are left to flow...it lends a very bohemian feel to pieces.
