Who doesn't make Christmas cookies every year?

I used to make batches and batches of different cookies each year. But lately I've become so involved with volunteer activities that I don't make as much, and have settled on making just a few of my favorite cookies. Grandma also has the grandkids over to decorate her sugar cookies, something I hope I can do when I'm a grandmother (waaaaaaay off in the future).

Such a sign of the season in our home! We have yet to frost any, but have spent the past two weekends making them. Lucas was introduced to my mother's family via frosting the dozens and dozens of cookies they all make every year while we were in college. Now it's part of his holiday traditions, too. :)

Me!
A few years ago we used to make gingerbread houses and decorate cookies when my mother in law still lived on the farm. Now we just have not had time.
I did make the most scruptious creme de menthe brownies...starting with a box! No one knew the difference and the way I invented "dukesing" them up (my grandma's word) was all the rage.
Your pictures are absolutely fabulous and really tell a story of a holiday tradition.
Enjoy the day!

Awesome, Kerry! You guys rock! Some of my fondest holiday memories were of baking those cutout sugar cookies & decorating them (colored icing, candy sprinkles and the works) with my aunt. I don't have kids, but I still make cookies...
Happy Holidays to you & your family. Love your blog!!

Oh Kerry these picures are wonderful. I especially love the B&W of Lauren...and there's Bonnie making an appearance - it's been a while since I've seen her here on your blog. The cookies look sooo yummy. I can't wait to make our cut-out cookies too. Maybe this weekend.
