Color Palette Blog Walk:: Inspired By Art Materials

color walk combo 1

Brandi Girl is at it again, with another inspired color palette series! When I was doing my usual blog walk this morning, I saw what Brandi was up to and thought "how the heck did I miss this?" Today's theme, Inspired By Art Materials, had me grabbing my camera and running down to my studio. Could I take photos that were not only visually pleasing, but color palette inspiring as well? I must admit, I was stumped for a while. I have pics on my computer right now of the caps of paint tubes and paint brushes, but none of it was really speaking to me palette wise. So, I set the camera down and set to work wiring up another new necklace. Then... wait a minute... look at my wire! These are photos of two wire color palettes I am working with at the moment. One new, and one I tend to combine often.

Thanks for a fun challenge, Brandi!

I *love* the second palette, but I think orange and blue tones speak to me a lot lately so I may just be a little biased. :) Is that the one you mentioned you use often, or the other one?

Thanks!

Yazmin, yes, I often use that turquoise and orange combo!

dbeck, no, you don't need a special coiling tool. it can be done by hand. but they do come in handy. look for "the coiling gizmo".

Kerry!! These are FABULOUS. I love the colors you've chosen, and I could see sooo many pieces with them. I have to say my favorite is the first one - something about that purple and olive green together that really, really works for me. Thanks for playing along!

ooh these are great ~ there's something very satisfying about reels of coloured wire, and your photos certainly do them justice ;)

You work in color all day long, I can't believe that you even had to stop and think!
I really wanted to do this, but I can't seem to make one of those palette things to save my soul. Maybe I will have more time to play with that on a random Wednesday ;-)
Enjoy the day!

Beautiful pictures! I love your palettes. I recognise your oft visited turquoise and orange (and love it) but I will be excited to see what you are making with your new purple palette - it's stunning!
