... and I decided to wallow in the rain.
The past few nights have been rough around here. If you are new to my blog, you may not know that my middle child struggles with bi-polar disorder. Others of you will know just what I mean when I mention rough times. After a talk late into the night with my husband, waking to this dreariness didn't do much for my mood or spirits. I decided I needed time to embrace the sadness and frustration, to wallow for a bit. I let myself get drenched in that big field I visited last week, there wasn't a sole in site and I let the rain coat me. I wish I could say that I came home refreshed and hopeful, but life can't be rainbows and butterflies all the time. I am still feeling rather somber. I am going to stow away in the studio for the afternoon, put a David Gray cd on repeat, and know that tomorrow is another day.
There is always the chance tomorrow will be a better day.

Courageous and beautiful Kerry, hang in there. It's always darkest before the dawn. And yes, tomorrow will be a better day.
'this too shall pass' in one respect or another... remember your butterflies in that they are representative of change/transformation/growth... as moms, we have to constantly evolve to keep up... when a child has challenges greater than the usual, it pushes us further... know you are thought of and supported...
oh hon, I will pray tomorrow is a better day for you too....keep your chin up lovely! ;o)
hugs
hello gorgeous xxx
Hang in there Kerry. The fact that you are trying as hard as you can is the important thing. Keep on being such a good mom.

i love that picture of you drenched. it is so raw, so real.

tomorrow is another day. just waking up in it is a good place to start.
take a deep breath.
square your shoulders.
lift your chin to the sun (it is still there, even though there may be clouds).
know that we care about you and believe in you.

and remember that "every day may not be good, but there is something good in every day."
enjoy the day!

One of my favorite quotations from the book of Psalms always sustains me when I am in a rough patch...
"Weeping may endure for a night, but Joy cometh in the morning."
Hang in there, Kerry.
The photos of you in the rain are just incredible, btw.
Hugs!
I love your photos!!!
I love your blog, I love your art.
Today is my birthday, and I'm happy to see the beauties of your photos, I'm sorry they were born out of sadness, but life gives you everything for you to be who you are. I miss my kids, they are both now young men living in LA, I am in Florida, I miss all the friends and family that I've left in Argentina. I send you 1,000 hugs, Laura.
Kerry, so sorry to hear it was another rough time. We do need to catch up. Sending you a hug!
Hugs, I have a son that struggles with depression. Lovely child, king, loving, tender, sweet, but he struggles. It passes.........this will, too.
We all have out own beliefs but I am a firm believer in Psalm 23...sometimes when all goes wrong and Ive been so very depressed and low in my life I have called on "the One who never slumbers nor does He sleep"! Sometimes when all else fails to leave it in His hands is all we can do. Be of good courage! The sun will shine again! My thoughts and prayers will be with you.
I loved this post.
