I have to tell you, the experience of introducing a room full of wonderfully caring, bright, intelligent women to something that I am incredibly passionate about, glass, is something I am going to hold very close to my heart for a long time. I love to teach, I love glass, and I love being in such a mutually supportive environment. Oh how I wish I wasn't so nervous. That way, I would have been enjoying myself from the moment I opened my eyes that morning, instead of spending my early hours of prep worrying. Alas, jitters come with the territory. Thankfully, eventually, those butterflies calmed down enough that I was able to feel really connected to the moments we were having. One of my absolute favorite parts of a day was the last 45 minutes or so, when, even though class was over, we were all sitting around with each other just openly talking/questioning/sharing about experiences. Students got to pick my brain about my thoughts on things. We talked about making the choice to live a creative life and finding for yourself what you can let go to be more fulfilled as a person. The whole thing felt so genuine and intimate. I.loved.it.

Thank you so so much Bev, Nadia, Heather, Amy, Michele, Frankie, and Patti for trusting me to introduce you to what I hope will be a long love affair with glass. Remember, I am here if you need me... ask questions anytime... and keep the rod hot, bead warm (not hot bead, cool rod)!

Thank YOU Kerry for you warmth and individual attention! This was just as amazing as I was hoping it would be and it's all because of you! I couldn't even tell that you were nervous! You were absolutely wonderful and I can't wait to get cracking on this at home! You are such an inspiration, thank you thank you thank you!
THANKS KIM! Hopefully, I can balance sharing lots for those that want to read it, like you!, and not going over board for those that don't want to hear it. LOL. But seriously, we all notice a drop in our comments and number of visitors after shows like this. The theory we developed was that of overkill on the topic.
Anyone else have thoughts on it? I am open for a discussion.
PS, Kim, Deryn Mentock flew in from Texas to teach, you could fly in to learn!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us newbies. I did not even notice you were nervous at all. You were fabulous and I am glad that I got to spend 2 days with you to pick your brain. Can't wait to light my torch. Thanks again!
P.S I came home to a sick kid. Glad I got to recharge my batteries this weekend to be a better nurse this week.
Kerry, I had an absolute BLAST! You are a wonderful and inspiring teacher - I can't believe you were nervous, as it certainly did not show! It was an honor being your student! Have fun in England and be safe!
Kerry, this is such a great post! It was fun to film you in action...you're a great teacher. It was really nice how you highlighted each student in your photo collage....I'm sure they enjoyed themselves behind the torch. :-) Iknow I myself would love to see more of the pictures you took...bet they're on flickr?

Looks like the class was great! Personally, I LOVE all the posts, pics and videos about the events that you and some of the others go to! I can get a taste of the experience and I think it does well to promote the events you are part of! Usually, just makes me want to go and be apart of it even more than I already did! So keep it coming I say.
