A New View

new view 1

Okay, what is it with me and salvaged windows? Really now? I can't get enough of them. I think I am up to eight in places through out the house. This latest one, over the kitchen sink, is courtesy of my sister. She found this gorgeous window for $5 at an estate sale. What you can't see in the photo is that those diamonds of glass actually bubble out. The window is dimensional!! The side on the living room sticks out about three inches from the frame. Cool huh? Anyone else salvaging old windows out there?

Love what you are doing with the windows. I am collecting glass door knobs to use with my window coverings in my front room. I have a stained glass window (no frame) that I put in storage cause I couldn't figure out what to do with it

There is a local artist who sells his work at my favorite place, Art Village, named Mykelangelo. He uses salvaged window panes to paint the most gorgeous art. It has a translucency that is like stained glass, but has different scenes in each pane. Someday I will have one and a place to put it! Enjoy the day! Erin

Very cool idea. I have a salvaged window in my laundry room with mirror for panes because I have no window in there. I love how you decorate Kerry.

You have a true window collection. Your latest courtesy of Bonnie is really cool...I like the dimensional aspect to it. It fits perfectly right where you placed it...as if it were just meant for it! I'd love to pick up a window or two but there's no room for them here.

I love old windows! What a creative use of them in your home. I think I'll have to take a picture of a pair of french windows that I am using as a room divider. I put fused glass into the individual panes. You've inspired me to post mine.

My dad's girlfriend had 2 large rectangular wooden windows with large square panes. She removed the glass, painted one red and the other blue and put them on her 20 foot high wall at skewed angles slightly crossing each other. Man did they ever look cool.
